Will they be okay locked in for a few miles on the road between lanes etc? I'm worried about scrubbing my tyres etc?

I am sure I read on here that if you engage 4WD then disconnect the vac pipes that the hubs will stay engaged. I want to permanently engage the front hubs so that the diff doesn't lie idle for months so I am guessing a short distance will be fine but maybe I'll get shot down. I just can't figure out what tubes to mess with.

I ran my SJ which had manually operated hubs with them engaged all the time cos when I tried jumping out to turn them from freewheeling to fixed I could never shift the things.

Found these on eBay the other day might be what you're after 151069547050
If you have stiff hubs that are hard to turn its because they're full of mud water & old grease, strip them down, totally degrease then reassemble & regrease (I use high temperature white spray grease).

Yes I saw those but I assumed they were just for freewheeling.

I know it says freewheeling but they look like the fixed ones, that you see on other 4x4's (green ovals) & the plastic cups are just covers the same as Jims have on the rear.

Is there a preferred gasket sealant for this?
