Just had a look under the motor, and the passenger side is now almost as bad as the above pic!

How urgent is it that i do it? i'm busy till the middle of the month... and so can't do it unless i have someone do it for me in a garage

Also is it worth me replacing the wheel bearing along with the king pins? Just get it all done so the passenger side is reliable for at least a while?

Cheers

Hi

I had the same problem a bit back and once I stripped it down I traced the problem to the axle oil seal that was not seated right causing the diff oil to leak into the swivel.

I ran mine for ages like it, despite people getting all excited about "NOT DRIVING IT ON THE ROAD".

It sprayed diff oil all round the arch and once i had them out there was only minor play, it feels much worse at the wheel.

I would just do the kingpin bearings and not worry about the wheel bearing until you have to, save the money. I do both sides when i do mine though as i've found that once one's gone the other side will be close behind, saves getting filthy again.

Black Jimny's don't get stuck!

at the end of the day, mine has gone and has never been offroad properly, so gone purely due to age and mileage

80% of Jimny drivers are so close to death they'd be crippled if they were looking at their swivels... and so it would only get flagged at the MOT. Meaning there's a chance people run them for 6-12months leaking.

I'm hopefully going to get it looked at tomorrow

haha, you know what i mean!

More often than not the jimny driving towards you is being driven by Doris with her Jack Russell on the passenger seat

How can the main stealers ask £100 for a bit Martin offers for just £23!
