That video shows a different question to the one you asked
You said about disengagement of the hubs to save fuel and wear and tear. The Jimny vacuum hubs do exactly that, so no need to change them.
That video shows a vehicle with auto hubs suffer a diff failure and then not be able to disengage the auto hubs because those hubs use rotational force to engage/disengage. This would not apply to a Jimny as long as the vacuum is working. You could always carry a cheap E10 torx if you are worried about a failure in the vacuum hub locking the drive.

Your boy in the video doesn't know what he is talking about with the automatic hub explanation. What he's described is drive flanges where the wheel is constantly connected to the differential. This is not how the vacuum hub works on a Jimny. Drive from the main gearbox is sent to the transfer which sends it to the rear in 4x2 and then also forward in 4x4. Following it forward the front differential sends power to each wheel and because 4x4 is selected the controller activates the vacuum to the hub connecting the half shafts to the wheels. When 4x4 is deselected the controller reverses the vacuum to the hub and also disconnects forward drive in the transfer case. This means that the front drive line, so prop shaft, front differential and both half shafts are entirely static. It is a double isolated system. By fitting manual hubs all you are doing is removing the decision when to engage the hubs from the controller which as said above gives the option of 4x2 low range for more convenient shunting of trailers in high grip surfaces. Otherwise the system is fundamentally identical.

Yes the Gen 3 manual locking hubs will fit, as will SJ hubs with a spacer.
But as other have said, they don't offer any benefits over the automatic locking hubs, and have a few downsides such as needing to leave the vehicle to engage them and the chance of forgetting if they are engaged or not. Many people get into trouble because they forget to get out and lock the front hubs.
Even 2wd low will be achievable with a simple switch if you can work out which 2 wires control the vacuum system. I have it on my gen 3. Complete control of the 4wd system without leaving the seat!
