Lift Kit shopping list

I couldn't agree more Martin.
Also, some lift kits, like the old 4" kit from ORA only lifted my Jimny something like 2-2.5" due to weight. I'm guessing the same applies for many other cheaper lift springs.

Thanks much for the advice, going for the Trailmaster kit, it seems with all the stuff included that the price difference isn't that massive, and as has been said, it appears that actual car specific design work has gone into it. So yeah, hope to be ordering one up later this month, or next, depending on whether or not my Mazda gets through its MOT. :side: Also if anyone is interested to know, Pro-comp has discontinued the ES1000 in Jimny sizes, Jimnybits is phasing them out in favour of black raptor.

Just wondering has anyone tried both the sport and the comfort kits who can offer a comparison, also is there any spec sheets available for the kits, I see a lot of folk quoting numbers in here but I can't seem to find a reference for them myself.

That depends on what you want from your Jimny.

For daily driving and commuting only I'd get the comfort shocks. But for anything offroad and for a bit more "sporty" feel (If you can have that in a Jimny) I'd get the Sport shocks.

I fitted 215.70x15s on my standard rims..also have 30mm spacers, and nothing rubs..YOKOHAMA GEOLANDAR A/T.S
Great for most off road, unless you are into serious mudding..my next step is a 2inch suspension lift..the 215.70 x 15 are a good choice, meatier than the stock tyres and look good too, very little excess noise.

Just fitted 2" lift and 215x75 BFG MTs. It just rubs on full lock, but only just. Obviously spacers (which is what I wanted to add) would make that worse, so that's put paid to that! The ride is much better (went for 'comfort') but do get the inevitable but mild 'thump-thump' of the tyres at very slow speeds.

Did you have to do any other modification to the rear in order to make the front springs work, like extended brake lines etc?
