Well one thing for sure is that the Spanish ones had a random mix of components. It almost seemed as if some were built with whatever parts were lying around, particularly engines. You find a mix of G13B and M13A in them which is not consistent with the production years. The latest I have seen is a 2004 with a G13B but other older ones with M13A.

And somewhere on the Internet is a picture of a sill on a Jimny that has been cut open to repair rust and the owner found a Spanish beer bottle in the sill. Of course it could be a fake picture.

I fully believe that about Spanish Jimny's. I drive a 56 plate Focus (I believe they were also assembled in Spain, could be wrong) and while there's nothing wrong with the actual build quality per se , there are no two focuses the same, I imagine that the jimny experienced a similar build process.

Personally I think it could be a good thing for production being moved to India, could drive down the (admittedly already very low) price.

4 door and other larger versions could be good additions, providing they don't make it so big that it just jumps right out of its niche corner of the market. The important thing for them to focus on I think is an engine update. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the engine but 80 odd horsepower doesn't really cut it for today's standards.

It will be a shame if they change it too much. I love mine just as it is, but a more modern engine would be nice.
Bit more BHP/torque, nothing massive just up to modern standards. It would help with the MPG too. :)

I think the Vitara size but with live axles and a 1.6 or 2.0 engine, reasonable sized tyres and good gearing would be ideal. When I say Vitara sized I mean the original and 2nd generation Vitara.

A range of engines would be good, I think a 1.6 would suit pretty much everyone's needs but some people who just drive round town would probably be happy with (an updated version of) the 1.3 and a 2.0 would be good for people who are into their serious offroading or perhaps using it for work.
