I was only pointing out that morrisons fuel is horrible not that all supermarket fuel is. And I was not condoning branded fuel. Asda fuel in my circumstances is both fresher and significantly less expensive than the other options available to me without the need for a specific trip out of my way. The cars I use it for have shown no ill health as a result of using asda fuel and on the occasion of using branded fuel there has been no demonstrable change in performance or economy over my regular supply.

Look at it this way, all fuel has to conform to British standard. Some fuel will exceed the standard but all must meet it. You can use whatever you want but saying that expensive is the only way to go is a bit like saying that you have to use a hundred grands worth of new range rover to go off roading, it may well be fine if you can justify the expense but it is not the only valid option available.

I would not rely on good old British Standard any longer. Look at Budget Tyres as an example. Some of those are damn right dangerous but pass British Standards to be sold in this country!
