Yes Halford,, it will help reduce road noise too, I'm thinking of adding to the mat some foam, to reduce the condensation problem further, as I believe Kirkynut has a sound idea there...

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configuration

Maybe it's worse on those with boarded out rears,

might put the carpet back on under the board

I have this stuff under mine. It breathes so to speak but I put it there as sound deadening TBH.

Originally I bought it for the field to use as a landing pad which wasn't too successful so it became underlay. I have a board on top of it then a carpet.

The main thing is keeping it close to the metal, minimum air space, but not crushed, and it may seem over the top but if foam or thickish material followed the boot metal contours and the foam topped with polythene then topped with carpet to protect the poly it would prevent internal condensation meeting the cooler metal boot floor.. Taping any seams or tears in the poly too would help..

BGBrit...

Do you mean this stuff that I used?

It definitely sets as hard as rock and seems completely impenetrable. But I think if you sealed the top of the boot floor it would still rust out from the bottom where there is loads of joints and seams. Really the only way is to either completely remove the rust underneath and then seal it or just remove the floor all together

The sad thing is that the newer Jimnys look to be faring no better than the older ones.

Yet modern cars generally seem to be less prone to rust these days.
