I've managed to get hold of aload of galvanised scaffold poles, does anyone know is it ok, strong enough, easy to bend, for a roll cage/traybak round my Jim?

Sacaffold is realy heavy because it is so thick and the galvanised coating has to be ground off for welding, as for bending its designed not to be bent for its purpose thats why its so thick

You'll need to come up with some more details. But in general, no. Not suitable for rollcage use. But if it's just for a simple external cage to protect the body, it's fine. Just not good enough for a cage to protect you and others. For that you'll need CDS tubing 45 x2 mm or T45 tube.

Don't fia roll cages need to be 3mm thick that was my understanding it should also have cross braces to prevent twistingTomDK wrote:

Any tube can be used but to be msa spec needs to be cds tube or blue band pipe finding the tube is the easy bit although expensive bending and notching it is the difficult part
