He used it exactly how it should of been and non of it stuck to anything . So we took it back to bare metal again and started again . The best way is to use a good quality etch or zinc primer on bare metal and then a highbuild 2k primer . Flat that with 400-500 grit dry or 800 wet sanding . Then a 2k solid colour black . If your after a nice job that is . Or if its for mainly offroad powdercoat as its much much stronger than paint . If your powdercoat is flaking off its not been done properly .
Interesting. I have never used POR15 but have done a fair bit of research as I am thinking of using it on some of the vulnerable areas on the Jimny.
Why do you think it didn't stick? A bad batch or maybe the metal surface had contaminates?

Right temp properly cleaned with marine clean . Next day i sanded it ready to fill and it just pickled up from the edges . So i got the airline on it and it came of in sheets . So i had a dig at a panel on the bus an low and behold it flaked of anything that had been bare metal . . I then spoke to a guy that had used it in his resto project and he had exactly the same problems with it . If you want to cure rust for good there is only one way . Cut it out and start again . There are products out there that do work but unfortunately por 15 or tiecoat arnt them . Jenerlite is ok but still not a long term fix . Por 15 is sold as a cure and a preventertive to rust and rot . And im shore in america where things dont rot because they dont have the salt content it might look like it works but trust me it doesnot work in our climate .
That's good to know
