I just use Wilkinsons gold spray paint and sling it on after a quick rub down. I got a few cornflake boxes, cut in to strips and joined the strips to make a big hula hoop to fit in the join of rim to tyre as masking.

I used hammerite on the back of my steels then sanded the front and painted dulux flat black from a spray can, I didn't bother to clear coat so I can easily touch them up when they get scrathed.

Do not use por 15 on anything worth more than 10 pence . I am on with restoring a old vw split screen and the customer had used this on the hole bus . He used it exactly how it should of been and non of it stuck to anything . So we took it back to bare metal again and started again . The best way is to use a good quality etch or zinc primer on bare metal and then a highbuild 2k primer . Flat that with 400-500 grit dry or 800 wet sanding . Then a 2k solid colour black . If your after a nice job that is . Or if its for mainly offroad powdercoat as its much much stronger than paint . If your powdercoat is flaking off its not been done properly .
