Steel wheel paint and colours was created by BensJimny
Hi there, hoping for a weekend soon that i can clean up and paint my steel wheels as there quite rusty, I have read through guides on this forum about painting the wheels and found 2 VERY useful guides:
www.bigjimny.com/index.php/forum/6-jimny...y-steel-wheel-refurb AND
www.bigjimny.com/index.php?option=com_co...accessories&Itemid=2

So here's the problem: i know what to do, I'm just unsure about what paint to use, lacquers, enamels etc and finally what colour wheels you guys have on your jimny's, Black, Silver? what would look good on my Jimny! Many thanks! Pictures Please! :P

If you have the time and money, POR15. Needs good preparation though but worth it. Never actually used it but have seen a lot of Youtube vid's and articles etc. whilst researching it. But it does need a top coat as it's not UV resistant, but you wont have rust problems again.

I might do my Wellers with that in the summer once I get around to sand blasting them.

Normal car paint and lacquer looks good but the rust comes through fairly quickly, even if you cleaned it and zinc primed it first. Blasting and powder coating is the best way to go.
