Be careful, you may find that car repairs, and even washing it are forbidden in the parking area, even if it is your space. Check your lease/tenancy agreement before winding him up further.

You are certainly not allowed to wash or work on your car on the street (except essential repairs to get it moving), depends on who owns the actual ground you are standing on.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Good point with flats. I have lived in a rented flat before and they had similar rules.

Of course I could point out that the brake shoes are available here.... www.bigjimny.com/store/index.php?_a=product&product_id=127

As is the fitting kit...

www.bigjimny.com/store/index.php?_a=product&product_id=190

I am just in the process of changing supplier which has enabled me to drop most of the prices, some by quite a significant amount.

Yup its true, no point rocking the boat, just annoys me the level of complaint this guy was willing to spout when i,d already agreed to clear up. He had a list of complaints that he was willing to complain about too, other things he perceived as other people doing wrong in the block. And I guess strictly speaking he's right no some guy probably isn't allowed to park his bike there etc.

His basic point was if everyone did what he expected of them then it would be a great place to live, I have my doubts. Generally there's a good atmosphere and the neighbours are friendly, seeing that the rules are strictly followed is going to crap on most of us.

Still I'll play nice, but I gotta say he's still an arse.
