My ones are cut down a little to 110cm. Not ideal but they live inside the vehicle all the time across the load liner.

Mine were 1200mm and lived on the roofcrate of the trooper - I've cut them down a bit now to fit across the Jimny rear footwell where they live strapped in full time.

My WB's are about 1.2m ish long and 50mm thick. Got them off eBay for £50 for the pair about a year ago. They are fastened to my roof rack using heavy duty, zinc plated U bolts, but with large wing nuts so I can do them up and undo them by hand easily.
When it comes to using them, make sure you have a shovel to dig the mud out from under the tyres to push them under a bit. The first time I got stuck I didn't, and it took a hell of a job to dig the mud from out of the wheels with my hands to get them under. If you don't, chances are the wheels will just spin on the leading edge and wont get any grip on them.
Also I have since ensured the U bolts are as near to the edge of the roof as possible (more so than the photos below), so I can reach up and undo them without having to clamber up the side of the J to reach.

do you guys leave them on all the time or just put them on when going offroad? im quite lazy so was thinking of mounting them side by side on the roofrack and clamping them down with modded ladder clamps so i can lock them on.
