They've probably done a decelerometer test on it not realising its ok to test jimnys on the brake rollers, speedo clearly inoperative is listed as a reason for rejection. :)

"speedo clearly inoperative" was listed on the MOT no idea how they tested it though. although it wasn't only the needle that didn't move but the milage didn't show anymore on the display underneath.

They 'dont deal with electrics' there and the re-test was free as long is i brought it back within 14 days. They can be pretty pricey for most of what I do but its the most convenient place for me to take it. 5 mins away! Never thought about £6 being pricey for the bulb.. i definitely dont have money to burn, i think i was a bit giddy and smug returning in 15 mins to tell them id fixed the speedo! Also relieved there wasnt any big bills so just went with it!

Anyhow im getting used to driving around and not s******* myself everytime we pass a speed camera :silly:

couple of advisories but roll on next year!

This is the faliures and how the manual oit lines this

Even if i carried a brake test i wouldnt fail it as im only testing the brakes not the speedo and reguarding what some one said about noticing it when shunting cars around in the carpark you can only test a car for mot in the designated test lane unless doing a brake testonce it has been regestered for test not in tue car park before or after the test
