Thinking of replacing the Jimny with a Panda 4x4. was created by distantcamera
I think it may be time for the Jimny and I to part ways. I'm very fond of it, but now using it as my daily drive and racking up a merry fuel bill of £400 per month and getting shafted by my insurance company for £70 a month thanks to a non-fault accident on my motorbike last year.
I simply can't justify that so I'm thinking of getting a Panda 4x4 to replace it. Originally when I first bought the Jimny I had visions of conquering the Earth in it, but in truth I very rarely drive it on anything more challenging that forest tracks. It has been fantastic in the snow, but I have no real need of the low box.
Anyone have any thoughts on the Panda? Probably looking at around a 2010 model.

Love 'em! Much more sensible and able as a road car than a Jimny, but with the clearance and the 'automatic' (Haldex) part time four wheel drive, and standard mud and snow tyres, surprisingly capable off road. I'd buy one in a heart beat if I found one at the right price

I had one about a decade ago. Wretched thing it was. I think it had the FIRE engine. I hear the latest one are desirable but I won't be entertaining one. That Yeti looks good??

Unfortunately the Yeti 4x4 is quite a long way out of my price range. I have been going insane looking at 4x4s both for me and for work, and it seems the Panda is the only one that almost ticks the boxes I need. I say almost as the perfect 4x4 does not exist.

Well, I just ordered the Panda, so I guess its time to offer the Jimny out to a new home. I will report back in this thread how it compares to the Jimny. And then I guess my arse will be booted out for crimes against the marque!
