Oh yes and before anyone starts going on about the 'perennial' Land Rover, my 2009 Freelander 2 with just 37000 on the clock has recently had a full new aircon pump fitted and now needs a complete steering rack at £1000!
It was 2 weeks outside the Stratstone warranty and they have told me they can't help me

My wife's Yaris clutch died a couple of months outside of the warranty and I kicked off with the dealer as it has a low milage and they agreed to pay for the parts and split the labour which was good of them, however the clutch shouldn't have gone in the first place! It was the thrust bearing that went
So it still cost us £200. Still they could have told us to bugger off

Looks to me people are now prepared to accept rubbish.Sills etc are made from better quality material as are engines and oil, thats why they last, but dual mass flywheels, crank dampers and lots of other parts are not needed and designed to have a limited life,Just look at all the solid flywheel kits available and someone on here made a solid crank pulley which has lasted for thousands of miles.Things have not progressed that much for the consumer.

Duel mass flywheels and crank dampers are there to extend the life of the timing belt and take out unwanted vibrations in gear changing etc all moving parts will were and fail at some point oil just sits there and lubricates and assists cooling and will were out its properties after a while
My jimny had done 50000 miles and had to rebuild it due to it smoking so engine build quality is still poor
Sill are made of metal its the layers of paint that protects them inside and out and corrosion mainly happens when a stone has chipped the paint off and all the road muck sets in
Oh and dont send me another message like that please i no i cant do any thing about it but its not the point this its ment to be a friendly forum and at the end of the day if you are afended of what i posted and cant accept other peoples comment and thoughts then dont post up topics
