It was a local auto welder here in Barnsley. Does repairs for the MOT and the like.
A little far from Surrey though, sorry.
I've bought my own mig welder now but haven't done such a big job.
Re: Fuel tank. He dropped it a couple of inches then fed a wet rug over it.
What I would suggest if you do it or someone does it for you.
Watch your interior glass with the sparks from the trusty old angle grinder. Cover them or mask them off. I didn't and now I have slight pitting/burns in my rear side glass. Doh!

No worries mate, having it done on April 5th as that's the nearest day my shifts/ their diary worked out. Will update the thread after that and can PM you the garage details etc
