these are fully forged Japanese gears.
Yes there are cheaper gears about but in my experience they are not of this quality and quietness.
I will say I wouldn't recommend the Chinese ones ! They are diar.
Don't know about the Chinese or Spanish etc, but can you explain what's wrong with the Trail gear gears? I don't remember anyone breaking a set of those, and they are as quiet as a sammy t-box can ever be, so I can't think of any reason why these "original" suzuki gears would be any better...
And those are less than £400 delivered from the states for a set of 6.5 gears + the included replacement parts...
nothing wrong with trial gear sets at all but anybody that knows there metal knows that forged is superior to billet cut. High performance engine's don't have forged pistons for the fun of it.
£400 delivered from the states !! Are you not counting import tax ?
the last set I got direct from them worked out at £542 all in
Spoonie I can also do the 2wd select rods FOC at time of rebuild but most people I've done it for didn't like it.

Well, I got a good price when I ordered my set because there was some sale going on, so I got them around $502 shipped, so that makes less than £400 taxed.(and I didn't get those direct from them...)Rockwatt wrote: £400 delivered from the states !! Are you not counting import tax ?

With a 6:1 box and the 2-Low kit AND a Lockrite in the rear diff - you dont 'need' 4-wheel drive in Low box very often.
Also, the 2-Low kit allows you to have 'fun' ....
When i had the Rob Storr SJ T-Case conversion (it was a 4.15:1 in my SJ413) i uprated to the 6:1 for the Jimny and the extra cost to have the 2-Low Kit install was only another few quid

I presume this is similar to turning my vacum hubs off in 4L - sort of, but the 2-Low is controlled 'manually' with the Low Box gear shifter.

Please feel free to call again or drop me your number and I will call you.

Thanks Maverick (TopGun?) I guess with Open diffs sometimes you can only be running 2wd when in 4H!! so that doesn't surprise me. Thanks for the info

@Rockwatt I suppose if I get a rid of the vacum hubs this could be usefull if its FOC

@Paul4x4 thanks for the link. I'll have a gander at that tonight over my left over Christmas Bailey's
