Its held on by a black jubilee clip. It can easily be stolen if you have a screwdriver!
This means that it can be rotated to face backwards if required. I have seen this on a few different vehicles. Not really sure what the reasons for this are. I'm guessing its to stop water entering the snorkel when you drive into water at speed.
I'm going to rivet mine on as I dont need to move the head.

Do you think it is really required to turn it round in heavy rain? I run a K&N panal filter so I can clean it if a bit of water etc gets in there!
I want to secure the head really as I dont want it to go walkies!
