Disconnecting the brake pipe unions, is easy - as said above, a good previous night soaking in WD40 (I prefer to use Ultra 2040) and be careful when un-doing the brake bleed nuts.
When they're undone, i use a bit of old pipe, stuffed with a bolt, and shove over the brake pipe (stops all fluid coming out, and makes bleeding a lot easier).
I havent read the How To, but dont forget to remove the hand brake cable as well - this can be an @rse, even a bigger @rse getting it back on.
For me, when i did my Locker, I changed my brake shoes - as its a heck easier to do when there's no half shaft in the way ...
Oh, I also replaced both Rear Bearings at same time .... might as well, as everything is apart!! My local garage repleaces them (i supply the bearings/retainers) at £20 a pop .... bargain!!

For those that have fitted this what washers did you use? The ones in the kit?

The 2 washers that come with the lock rite are actually 'stop pins spacers' which sit between the pinion shaft block and the coupler side gear. You need to use the thin thrust washer from your diff but not the thick one. It becomes more clear when assembling! If you need any more help just ask.
