Yes, due to popular demand we have organised a BigJimny Meet event on June 14th 2026 at  Parkwood 4x4 (a.k.a Tong) which is between Leeds and Bradford in West Yorkshire. This is a meet-up with 4x4 off-road drive around event. This is a social meet along with the opportunity to drive your vehicle off-road on a site where there is something for everyone. So its time to put it in your diary as this is a not to be missed event.

This is an event for all vehicles, from shiny to fully tricked up. It is also a social event with overnight camping and a great vibe for those wanting to simply hang around with fellow Jimny enthusiasts. The event location is Parkwood 4x4 which is often called "Tong", the postcode is BD4 0RR. This is one of the largest off-road sites in the UK and has a variety of firm tracks through to extreme testing terrain. There will be a burger van during the day for breakfast, snacks and lunch. We will be also organising toilets and wash facilities for the camping area.

All participants must be pre-booked, turn up ad-hoc on the day will not be permitted. General spectators are not permitted as there is only limited space. Everyone attending should have a seat in a booked vehicle and that seat should have appropriate safety provision (seat belt, child seat, harness etc.)

Booking is PER VEHICLE and it is £45, there is a multi-vehicle discount for VEHICLES BOOKED AT THE SAME TIME so gather your friends together and make a single booking to save.

Additional drivers/passengers with the same vehicle are free, we are setting the limit on tickets to 140.

BEFORE YOU BOOK - You can ask questions etc. in the forum here: - FORUM DISCUSSION

ONCE YOU HAVE BOOKED - There is a WhatsApp group just for this event (no Technical Support or general Jimny Chat) - Please email  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your entry number and mobile number to gain  access

VEHICLES

Trailered vehicles are permitted, however this is a family drive around event so do not come if you expect to blast around in a "scrapper". BigJimny and the site owners reserve the right to refuse entry to vehicles that appear to be little more than scrap. There has been a rise in recent events(not BigJimny events!) where people have brought along a scrapper to destroy, this is not what this event is about.

As with any motorsport or motor related event, there is a small element of danger. You are responsible for driving in a safe manner. The event is suitable for beginners and shiny cars but you should be aware that there is always a chance of a puncture or foliage scratches dependant on how you drive.

New tyres (update)

Jimny_IMG_20180208_132358

When I ordered my new tyres (see here)  there were only 4 in the UK. However I have found one so now I have a proper spare. Its all very heavy on the rear door but thats a problem to tackle another day. Very pleased as it now looks like a Jimny!

Heavy Duty Transfer Box Rubber Mounts (update)

sized_Jimny_IMG_20180130_201301

Quick update: I have been running the ZookBOB heavy duty transfer box mounts for a week now and can report a very noticeable drop in "noise" from the Transfer Box. The transmitted vibration from the box to chassis and rest of the Jimny has gone! A whole made Rocklobster is never going to be quiet but this one just got a lot better.   ...

Heavy Duty Transfer Box Rubber Mounts

sized_Jimny_IMG_20180130_190552

The standard Jimny rubber mounts are notoriously weak when the Jimny is used in anger offroad. It is common to break one, you find your transfer box lever suddenly leans to one side or the stick seems to disappear into the floor and everything shakes and rattles.

In the early days of modifying Jimny's, everyone developed Polybush style heavy duty mounts. Indeed I have a set of mounts which were early production models from Off-road armoury. However, the material used in Polybush items or variants is hard and unforgiving. Yes, it is long lasting and tough but it does not lend itself to comfort. That is why I got rid of my caster correction bushes in the radius arms and went back to rubber based ones, to improve the ride.

The same can be said of the transfer box. The heavy duty polybush style mounts on mine have lasted well but they transmit every vibration and bump onto the chassis and body work.

Getting an identity

sized_Jimny_IMG_20180111_130503

I have had the Jimny over 10 years now and in that time it has never had any badges. When I purchased it there was no badges on it and I did not do anything about it.

Centre Dot Fasteners

Jimny_IMG_20180108_123617

Not really a how-to, more a rant on the mis-use of these fasteners!

I have had my Jimny for 10 years so it was owned by others for 4-5 years before that. Up to now I have been giving it a hard time off-roading it so I have not been too concerned about the finer details of how it looked. However...
