boot floor rust - again was created by Halford
took off the rear wing panels and found the rust had spread further than I'd first thought
so rubbed down and treat again with rust convertor
and later smothered everything in silver hammerite, so any further rusting will be easy to spot
so what is this all about ?
it's top down rust, it hasn't penetrated from below
is it just condensation pooling on the rear floor ?
is it ingress through the seal along the edge of the floor ?
hopefully all sorted now, will check again in month to see if the tin worm has returned

Well spotted and fingers crossed it lasts a while! Seems to be the way with jimnys.... Check them often and nip things in the bud before you get big holes!

Nice job Halford looks clean and tidy, you should add some more sound proofing I covered mine with as much as I could when I had the back seats out to add rear speakers it does make a difference

Lack of ventilation? It's pretty well sealed up back there. I've heard from a few people that going thru deep water their jimny's don't let any water in through the door seals.

I've just replaced my boot floor and on mine I think that water had been getting in along the seal where the floor meets the arch and rear crossmember. These parts are only spot welded and then sealed with a sealer that seems to perish over time.
I've seam welded mine now, coated both sides in epoxy and then underseal on the outside. If it rusts again I think I'll just roll it over a cliff
