Video of my trial last Sunday. I came 3rd, which is a good improvement for me, mostly down to the lift and Special Tracks.

It’s great fun. The club I go to is for Road Taxed Vehicles (RTV) so no off road Sunday specials and they are a really friendly bunch, keen to offer help and advice, unless of course you beat the committee members.
I have been going for 20 months and when I first started I was the only Jimny in a sea of Land Rovers, but we have 3 Jimnys now and one of the others often wins (3” lift, Special Tracks and a weekend car). There is also a small number of other makes and it makes it interesting to see how different vehicles cope.
The turning circle on the Jimny is an advantage, but ground clearance is the main drawback (fixed with a lift). My AT tyres soon get clogged in the mud, but those Special Tracks are something else, no wonder most of the vehicles there use them.

Its a Land Rover club, but all events are run on an open permit, so other makes can compete too. There are often a couple of Jimnys at some events. But would be quite a good location for you with events at Olney, Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard areas.
