Hi mate,

Interesting I'll have to save that! I'm heading to Skye tomorrow so I'll get a better look at what speeds equal what MPG. It's getting a wrap next month and I'll be ordering some new alloys and tyres so I'll see what the crack is.

Definitely getting something done to the engine. I spoke to the little_rig on Instagram the Ozzy with that obscene Jimny and he said regearing made it a monster.

lt will certainly make a monster noise at motorway speeds if you lower the gearing.
Try changing the wheels first.

Why will lowering the gearing make it a monster on the motorway, that's not how lowering the gearing works.

Lowering the gearing brings the engine and gearbox revs back to where they were before going for larger tyres.

I know because I have done this on both my Jimny and SJ. You lower the gearing appropriate to the increase in tyre size.

If you have a MK4... What's the RPM on your Jimny at 70MPH?

Mines at like 3,500 so it's not to bad. It hasn't got an engine insulator for some reason so I'll invest in one from JimnyStyle.
