Got an annoying noise coming from the engine. Think it's coming from the water pump. It does change frequency when the engine revs get higher (didn't rev it in the video tho). I think it could be the pump bearing(?) It's not causing any problems so far, but just wondered in case I'm wrong as to what the noise could be?

Try removing one belt and see if the noise goes at least then you can rule some things in and some out

Perhaps try removing the fan belt and running for a few seconds to eliminate, plus you will be able to spin the water pump by hand to get a feel for it.

Hi Gents,
Thanks for the responses. I had a look on youtube and seen someone spraying water on the inside of the belt to eliminate belt squeal from the fault diagnosis. It's definitely not the belt as the squeal is still present after a quick spray (saved me taking the belt off) Last time I changed the belt was fairly recent and I checked all the pulleys for play when the belt was removed, they seemed fine. Things could have changed from that time of course. I can live with the squeal for now, but my main concern was whether the water pump would fail as the sound seems to be coming from that vicinity.
Looks like I'm going to have to take the belt off again to confirm things. Just glad the weather is more agreeable.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Look down at the crank pulley when the noise is present and see if it is vibrating
