I'm not sure I agree with the advice you were giving, if a tyre is over inflated you lower the contact patch on the road surface and grip, if you search the forum you'll find quite a few posts about how sketchy a Jimny is inroad with tyres that have been over inflated by tyre fitters. If your tyres are (over) inflated to the max as suggested, I'd be really worried about handling and grip.

For what it's worth I've had my Jimny for a year+ and have never oversteered or understeered (except intentionally on the beach or in the snow) and I don't really hang about either (nor do I have a front anti-roll bar!). Decent tyres at the correct pressures help I think.
That said though, I'd agree that it's not the best first car. It is a high, short wheel base, rear wheel drive vehicle so it's never going to handle like a hatchback.
I must drive like that too, never had the Jimny out of shape (except purposely on snow to see where my limits were) and that was with old tyres.

The Jimny is not a sporty car, as others have said the wheelbase, high c.o.g, suspension design etc are not conducive to high speed driving. My advice would be tyres at the correct pressure whilst driving according to the road conditions will help tremendously (omg I sound like my dad!!)
The Jimny owners manual even highlight that our choice of "multipurpose vehicle" has different handling characteristics over a conventional passenger car, and that it is not designed for cornering at the same speed as a conventional car.
I've never felt the Jimny was unstable, a bit crashy over speed bumps etc but that has improved with my new tyres, it's just different to the common car on the road. I love mine though, it still makes me smile.

Likewise. It seems everyone drives like Ken Block when they are sat behind their keyboard though
