had insa turbo dakar that went to 36psi and i ran at 33. now i have hankook dynapro atm rf10 that go to 36 as well and i run from 32 to 34psi
it's kinda bumpy, but i use tire pressure to help with the handling. before, when i had a 1.2 corsa, front wheel drive , i ran across town flat out most of the times, doing roundabouts way above legal speeds. i used to have the front tires with lower psi to "soften the wheels" so that when understeer manifested itself, i had ample warning and time to act. skinny tires and high psi felt very skitish. this way understeer would kick in a bit earlier, but way slower.
the jimny however, i do the oposite.
first of all the jimny is not a car for attacking the road, so given the speeds it's usually driven at, it will only step out of line if you really push it, of if the conditions allow it (rain and stuff)
the jimny is more tail happy. sure, at times it will understeer, but most of the times, when understeer happens, the rear is already lose, so i use that to counter the understeer.
also, and i notice this in the roundabouts in the wet...first thing that will happen is oversteer. then, while in oversteer, if you try and sort it with the front and use too much steering lock, the front will understeer until the rear settles back down or gets in line with the front wheels. you'll preety be sliding sideways on all four wheels at the same time.
this is why i use a "harder wheel". sure, in the right (wrong) conditions the real will step out of line much quicker, but the harder front wheels will also be not only quicker and more effective to control it and the understeer, while more sudden, will take place in a narrower envelope

I had noticed this when i was searching for a jimny.
I think it was in the suzuki manual that I read the rollovers that have occurred were due to the vehicle leaving the road and hitting verges/Kerbs. Basically they were stating although they have a high centre of gravity they don't just fall over.
