Advice on this rust was created by emu88
Hello, To clean the seat belt mechanisms I removed the rear seats and side panels but then ended up doing much more than expected. Anyway, I have come across the following rust issues. The worst bit in where the scissor jack is stored, but there are others. I'll post photos below with some info and would appreciate if I could get some advice on how big of a job it is. I might be able to take it to have it done depending on the cost but would be more than happy to have a crack myself (not welding of course, but cutting out rest of rust, filling with filler, sanding, painting etc so at least I know it's better than before and won't get worse until I can get it properly done. I have already chipped away most of the loose stuff and it seems localised rather than widespread.) Thanks!!

Hmmm.....rotten as a plum!
Mine on the other hand is as rotten as a pear!
Yours I would repair and seal it against future rot inside and out...mine is going to have a new floor made as I'll be the second clown to "repair" it.....the first one was still learning to weld by the look of things!
No underseal on mine from new by the look of it either underneath... Suzuki let themselves down with the rear floorpan!!
Just bear in mind if you use filler to "repair" it you may increase the price of an effective repair when the filler has to be removed to weld it.....Yours actually looks like a fun/treat job to weld being so clean.... east Sussex is a long way from Leeds sadly

Actually that does not look too bad, relative to other Jimny's. I have seen a LOT worse
:silly: :woohoo:
I would say its definitely worth getting it done.
