First I will admit to being totally novice to this, so everything it new.
Speedo and clearance was why I started looking at 235/70/15. Now I may be wrong, but they should fit the original rims, and not require spacers. 15mm ether side ?. I'm thinking a 2" lift kit, and have my eyes on the Trail master set, I would also do the camber and rear brake conversion at the same time.
I'm trying to compromise, as the wife does not want me to go over the top on the lift.
The mechanic side I can do, and have most tools I would need.
A Trail Master 2" lift is an excellent choice for a 2" lift. Note that there are a few options regarding both shocks and springs. All depends what you use you jimny for and how much extra stuff you've put on.. Like cage, winch and so on.
235/75/15 non-remoulds fit excellent on standard rims on a 2" lift without spacers or the like. And the speedo will still be okay

The gearing will be terrible though on 235/75/15's without a rocklobster.

For offroading I agree.
But for a bit of greenlaning now and then on non-remould 235/75/15 I say it's okay. But you're right, it's with limitations
