You'll need to get it checked out but VVT gearboxes can be fragile and are very expensive to replace.
The main point is the Jimny is not designed to be used permanently in 4wd.
It is not a "fast" car and is happier at lower speeds.
There are all sorts of dire warnings about 4wd on the Jimny on tarmac wet or dry.
You should be looking for a car that is permanent 4wd or,at the very least, has a centre diff. The Jimny doesn't so you need a slippy surface to stop the wind up.
You have to remember the Jimny was designed in the mid 1990's and by today's standards is an old car and while capable of being an excellent off roader it's no Range Rover when it comes to speed more old landrover lol.

Totally agree with what Gilburton has said think you would be better off with a audi quattro

Wow  people are patronising on this forum why would someone who has owned a Jimny for over a year not know that it’s a slow car, and I don’t see anything about him wanting to keep the car in 4wd permanently

I thought his forum was about offering constructive advice

"I'm also very curious hearing anyones experiences using the 4wd on soaking wet 60mph and 70mph relatively STRAIGHT LINE roads? Especially for over taking in hard rain where you don t want to spin out when changing lanes "

I thought I was being constructive but given the above statement I would have thought if that is what the OP wants to do the Jimny isn't exactly the sort of car to do it in.
Some people might not consider 70 mph "fast" but is it really a suitable thing to do in a Jimny especially in the wet and in 4wd on tarmac as the OP has said.
4wd on a wet or dry road is a no no and can actually make controlling the car worse.
On thick snow or ice or offroad in wet/muddy conditions it's fine but you are not driving at 50/60.
My obvious suggestion would be to slow down and not to use 4wd on any roads as Suzuki and others advise.
They warn that damage could possibly occur and it would indeed appear that in this case some damage has happened.
Driving at these speeds and engaging 4wd cannot be good for the car.
As for the actual damage to the car some suggestions have been offered but it needs someone actually there to diagnose it as it could be one item or a number of things in the transmission.
My money is on the transfer box.
That is constructive advice!!

I started off high and worked my way down ever since :-)

Yeh good one-I'm asking a specific question in regards to the car, not what car I should own. The job I do seriously requires that I have a jimny or 4wd system.

I am simply asking If someone has FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE with using the 4wd at 70mph and caused damage to their jimny by doing so.

I am well aware that the car is similar from the 90s models.
please do let me know your experiences or if you have any mechanical know how as to what the problem maybe be only

70mph in 4wd will not be good for the Jimny. At slow speeds on slippy ground the transmission can unwind itself. At 70 even a small corner will add lots of wind up and the distance traveled is much greater also at higher speeds it's harder to unwind and probably dangerous.Maybe you need a permanent 4wd vehicle. Subaru, grand vitara etc

Gold Jimny the best colour (sold) :(

Big red Jimny 32" tyres, arbs, cage 5:1 transfer etc. (Sold)

Grey pick up Jimny
Turbo m13a, arbs, floating rear shafts, disc conversion rear, vented front conversion. 245 70 16. Winch, 3" lift, 4:16 trans hd shafts and CVS
