Hi oxford_bloke, I have the same problem with the passenger side which don't hold the wheel, a friend of mine a car mechanic said to take off the caliper and screw in the piston and then put it back together, then pump the brakes for the piston to come out take off the caliper again, then screw in the piston again for the second time. Put it back together again, again pump the brakes so the piston comes out. Then for the last time take off the calliper and unscrew out the piston so the pads just misses the disc. It this don't work the caliper is shot. Some times to get it to hold you need to hold your foot down on the brake paddle at the same time putting the handbrake on, he also said that he has loads of problems with getting them thro mots. Hope this helps

Nick,

Thanks for that luckily I had a spare caliper in the garage so swapped them over and the handbrake works. I am yet to bleed the system but feeling hopeful about it
