Nah, already changed that.
Got the head off yesterday, the gasket has rotted between no 4 pot and the waterway, and no 3 was on its way as well.
Took the head to teesside motor factors in Middlesbrough and when the guy realised I had come from Whitby (about 25 miles), he said 'give me half an hour'.
Job done! That's what I call service!

Head back on with a few false starts which I won't bore you with.
S*dding new waterpump (fitted) but nowhere to bolt the cam belt tensioner adjuster to.
Took new one off and old one back on as it was still serviceable. made it a new gasket with gasket sheet and a sharp knife.
Thankfully my local garage gave me the loan of a torque wrench which went lower than 10 Nm, as min starts at 30.
It will be all back together tomorrow morning, fingers crossed for first turnover!

Go on, tell us the false starts. Our mistakes are how others learn! I take it you did not bother replacing the valve seals then?

Oh I know I should have, but I need it on the road. When you live where I live you are k***ackred without a car, and a head gasket is a big jump for me without adding to the complications.
Don't know where to start really.
Put head on without building up, then found I could not get the rocker shaft in cause of the iron work where the bonnet catch is. It was close but no cigar. Tempted to cut and bend then weld a new bit in but went in and had a vat of wine. Much better!
Today- inlet and exhaust manifolds off, head off and built it up on the bench.- as per advice from some nameless person on here. brill- much easier.
Put head on an cannot get head bolts in past the rockers- D'oh
soooooo, head off, cam etc off, head on, bolts in and torqued, then build the rest up. doing rocker clearances, but need cam belt on to rotate for other rockers. Cam belt on,- nowhere to bolt cam belt tensioner adjuster to newly fitted new water pump, it is slightly different to old one bugger! Old one still ok so make new gasket, new one off, old one on. Time for a glass or three.
Next installment tomorrow.
Well, you asked for it Mick!!
