If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

If the door switch is working, have a search on here for disabling the chime.
Some time ago someone was asking how to stop the noise (apart from the obvious not leave the keys in/lights on
) there is a wire you can cut behind the dash to stop it.
This might have been done to yours, or it might even be the same car.

Theres a black "breaker" on the rear of the dials which controlls the beep when you leave the lights on and also when you open the door with the ignition on.i removed mine to stop the beep when the doors open and it also disabled the beep to say the lights are on.

What do you mean "breaker" and by dials, you mean instrument cluster? My ignition beep and light beep have never worked and I'd love to have them working...
Cheers.
Ali.
