Factory Jimny Coil dimensions? was created by jwriebe
Hello,

Admittedly, I'd rather not tear my Jimny apart as it gets me to work 6 days out of the week B) so I have a question:

Anyone have the measurements for factory Jimny springs, front and rear. Specifically: inner diameter and free length.

Off of my rough measuring with them on the car it seems the rears are around 175 lb springs and the fronts a might heavier...any thoughts?

Thanks,

Jon

You want to know standard jimny coil rates?

Front and rear springs on petrol jimny are all 120 lbs/in
Front springs on diesel jimny are 150 lbs/in

Hello, my jimny coil dimensions (factory).

Measured on these

K is calculated by adecuate equation

Also, k is calculate with 1.5 turns less because it is supported on the plates

8 mm less for the intensive use

There's something wrong with those calculations. it takes a good deal more than just 20-24 kg's to reduced the springs length by 1 cm. Look in the PDF file i've linked to above, it shows the correct springs rates.

Yes Tom, Quite so! :)

26 N/mm

1N = 0,102 Kg :)

1mm = 0,1 cm

Conversion coefficient is very close to 1 (practically 1N/mm = 1 Kg/cm)

I think that my calculation is correct .
