Cheers mate will give it a try. The socket came- looks crap!
Can't see how this is for a jimny, the plastic but doesn't seem to come off so can't see how I can get it in its hole!

These fitments are so fiddly they are a pain. Often a bayonet or clip fitment and only one outlet!! Pain, pain pain.

Guessing the black end cap screws off then you pop the green body through the hole from the rear of the fascia then screw the cap back on. The wires that are already on are just to illuminate the green body so you'll need some correct sized bayonet crimps to make up leads

;)

I am guessing too regarding that one in the pic but most of the OE ones are pushed in from the front and either stay put with a bayonet action, have a clip action or are retained by a case that screws on from the back. One thing is for sure, all the ones I have messed with have been different according to the maker and never can I find instructions anywhere to remove these things from motors. Pain, pain, pain.

On this one it looks to me like the green casing releases from the body by pressing clips, then one puts the casing behind the hole in the dash and pushes the body in from the outside/front whereby it will snap into place. Pain, pain, pain.

Well... Turned out the socket I bought was utter crap so discarded it and went with this one instead

Mate had it kicking around in the garage and it screwed on nicely. Means I can get out lamping now :)

Thanks again for the help everyone!
