Not able to look at the Jim's at the moment but couldn't the same be done with them?

Yes, I'm sure it could. The bottom of one of my headlamps was full of muddy, shitty water when I got it. It kept misting up so I stripped it out and dried it in the oven - I probably over did it a bit as the adhesive joining the lens to the body started to melt - I guess I could've split it and done a proper job at that point. To try clean it after it had been baked I poured meths in and sloshed it round a lot - it did ok but you really need to try get in there to clean it out properly.

It just needs a little common sense, you obviously don't need to turn the oven to number 11. Der!
If you destroy an headlamp doing it by this method, perhaps it's natures way of telling you something. LoL ;)
I've done it with three sets of different lamps and never had a problem. Just take your time and be patient.
