Yeah. 5 wires to the original control module.
Tried to wire it up like the example 3 bottom page.
Then it locks for a second, and automatically unlocks....

I had a wiring diagram like the ones in the OP but I was not prepared to try to use existing wires whilst on the other hand installing the extra solenoid made life so much simpler.

Yes that's as far as i got.

But where do you take the live from to feed the unit? Is there one in the door?

fit a 2 wire locking motor run a twin flex from the door into the cab
and wire up as in diagram D
