+1 also i would start by checking the front brakes first and if you dont know how to get the drum off you shouldnt be doing the job in the first place

Discovered fluid level is down cos both front and back brakes are well worn, this is why the light is coming on.
You can still use a hammer. Give it a tap all the way round and it will loosen so you can pull it off with your hands.
