Brake drum removal was created by Leathery1
I am probably being a bit thick here, but are there any tips to removing the rear brake drums? The brake light on the dash has stated coming on whenever I brake, think it is low pads. I have just dropped one of the wheel off and cant see anything retaining the drum but it wont budge. Any advice?

You need to wind back the adjusters. There should be s hole in the backing plate usually covered with a bung. Inse rt a flat blade screw driver and wind them back. Then you can use a m8 bolt to wind the drum off using the special threaded holes in the drum front

Theres 2 bolt holes in the front of the drum, find some bolts that fit and slowly wind them in evenly this will push the drum off.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

You only need back off the adjusters if there is a lip worn into the drum.
If there is, and you don't, the drum comes off with a BANG and you will have pulled the retaining pins through the little spring caps.
You can then hammer the spring caps back into shape if you don't have new ones

If its the brake warning light that's coming on check the brake fluid level.
