EGR actually has nothing to do with reburning gasses, the exhaust gas is considered inert. At part throttle the compression is much less and the restriction of the throttle causes pumping losses. The exhaust gas is injected into the manifold to make up space in the cylinder and reduce the pumping losses, the net effect is a higher effective compression, better combustion and higher efficiency. EGR is disabled at high loads so it has no effect on max. power. Overall its a good thing and as long as its cleaned out occasionally then it will be quite reliable
Most of what you will read on the net regarding EGR removal concerns diesel engines which are quite different because they usually always work at full throttle and vary the fuelling.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

I was not planning to remove it just take it off clean it out and refit it. Ive heard it could be the cause of my revs dropping at idle. Is it simple to take off and clean etc?looking at that diagram its on the back of the block, does anyone have a picture of it or a nice guide for me?

Hello.

One function of the egr valve is to reduce NOx in the exhaust.

Here we use two methods to override this valve

In the g13bb engine

Method 1. Easy..

replace the seal tube with an blind gasket

in the blue oval is located the gasket

Method 2. more complex

Sealing the hole of the cylinder head where the exhaust gases flow.

The cylinder head without exhaust manifold

Aluminium plug homemade

Flare the hole

Insert the plug

To cancel the damaged EGR prevents the intake manifold is full of waste gases and accelerate the engine to lose power until they are cleared waste gases

I believe it will be useful

Gustavo

Id already found that but I dont need to block it off jist want to clean it out and its the wrong engine lol. Some people are saying remove it others are saying best to leave as its needed and just clean it. Im not to sure why you would want to overide it as its obviously got a purpose?
