tyres again - 215 75 15 or 195 80 15 and types was created by robs5230
hi the dakars are wearing and i'm wondering where to go with the sizes for my next tyres. i'm currently on 195 80 15 dakar muds. has anyone any experience of running 215 75 15 without a rocklobster or otherwise altered transfer gears ??
even with 195 muds i'm having to use 1st and second more for normal hills on road and i'm thinking 215's may just push it over the edge.
secondly with the amount of rain we are having there's loads of mud about where i go and i'm finding the dakars don't work brilliantly in heavy gloopy mud.
if i did go 215 then i could get bfg km2 but if i stick to 195's my choices are limited. i have considered the malatesta kobra mt and the kobra nt1 mt . anyone have any experience of these ??
thanks

I am currently running 215/80/15s with a lobster but wanting to go bigger when the time comes I had 235/75/15s on with standard transfer box and it was fine a little sluggish but that's going to be resolved soon in the shape of 1.6 and a bit of time in the cave lol

I've been using the kobras but just switched over to insa turbo special tracks and that's made a massive difference. The kobras were good though in deep mush and mud. Cleaned themselves well
