The axles and transmission cases already have little breather valves fitted as standard, these are ok for occasional use.

The reason why people fit external breather kits is that the little breathers can get full of mud and stick if you go for the full mud-plugging experience.

So Martin, are you saying if all I do is take it through a clean water ford every now & again I shouldn't have a problem with the standard valves?

I was under the impression getting the breather valves under water was a no-no. I'm really not planning on getting it over the axles in mud but it would be nice to keep up with the rest of the group if there is a ford when laning.

I think I am confused now!
