Sorted thanks pal.

Slight hijack here but I removed my vac ones and fitted manual hubs but have never had the faintest idea of how to stop the lights flashing and remain full on when in FWD.
That is easy.
If you look under the battery, there is a birdsnest of rubber pipes and the two vacuum valves. There is a round switch with two wires on attached to one of the pipes near the valves. Join the wires together.
Then there is a pipe leading from the manifold to this birdsnest. Blank it off at the manifold with a rubber cap.
Hi Facade, appriciated for the help, do you have any picture how it looks like, I am totally nowise to these things, do not know what the valve would look like etc., will then after the joining the wire will cause any fault to the system, like it won't flash at all whether is on 4wd or 4L?
Thank you

Here's the overall pic of where I was working; it is just below the battery and the main fuses.
If you dive down you will see the mass of pipes - nightmare setup really - and in this pic I have added an arrow to show the round vac switch. It will just pop out of it's spring clip. Just over it is the disconnected plug with my added shunt. I have also shown the disconnected vac pipe from the inlet manifold.

Hi John thank you for the post, I must say your engine look really clean, I will look for the switch, after finding the switch, which 2 wires do I connect to blank off? Do you know after the wiring the switch would it give indication after you switch to 4wd and 4L or blanking off means total light off?
Thank you

The round vac switch has only two wires running to it and there is a plug on the end of the wires that goes in to the round switch. YOu can't go wrong once you have located it. I spent almost an hour trying to get the damn plug out as I found it hard to get two hands in there to get some pull. I was sorely tempted to cut the wires, bare the ends and twist them together but I think that would be even more of a nightmare to do. The plug has female spade connectivity - two! I made a simple shunt to bridge the terminals, two spade males soldered on to a short link of cable. It can all be restored later if needs be.
Here you can also clearly see the round vac switch that the plug came out of!!
About the clean engine, it's the only reason I bought this Jimny - looks like new in places even after 15 years!!

Thanks again,
