it was a vitara engine we was looking at but think it would have to be a grand vit im still undecided weather to go ahead it seams a good idea as its going to cost me nothing just worried in the process of doing it im going to hit trouble I could do with out, I mite sort out getting a motor modding it to fit get it in his jimny running fine then once im happy swap them over its more work but then I have no worrys

The 1.6 Grand Vitara uses the same head as the jimny But it has a 11 lobed cam sensor ring same as a hard top
you can swop the cam from your soft top"2 lobed sensor ring"
Just swap the jimny head on the vitara block valves are only 1mm smaller will be job done for the price of head gasket ive put jimny heads on 8V vitara blocks with some little piston mods all very very easy to swap
Not sure how you can over come the soft top crank shaft sensor as the ecu will need it
unless it`s possible to transfer the sensor ring to the vitara engine or swop ecu
