ive been offered a vitara engine and money for a swap for my engine as the bloke with the workshop next door to me has one with a blown engine and he wants to keep it standered, he would collect the vitara engine we know is up for grabs and pay me to fit it to my jimny if i give him mine, our jimnys are 2001 and 2003 soft tops with same single cam motors
my qestion is does a vitara engine slot straight it with no messing around and do you fit the gearbox or the jimny gearbox if so is this a straight fit
whats the gains are they worth the swap for offroading mainly
any ifo would be great as im keen for the upgrade but havnt got the time to be messing around to much
Only thing that im awere of that is different is the rear end of the camshaft where the sensor is and the soft tops have a crank shaft sensor as does the vitara engine
