Sugar i have one of these kits, hopefully the issue isnt too bad. Figured out you can just pull the original pipe from the box and tap it in there. Havent checked if the thread size is all good yet though

Also from australia :p

Any new info on what the issue was? Im assuming its the gearbox fitting, removed the original fitting and now need to chase up a bigger push in fitting and tap it. I think the axle ones would work

The transfer box and gearbox have to be moved to drill. This makes it more of a task for these.

I have assumed that most people want to protect the axles first, so the kit can be installed in stages, with the transfer box and gearbox later. When you want to fit the other breathers you use some tee-pieces in the kit to cut in the extra sections.

I had an old "push-fit" hosepipe one originally on my car and it did not have the gearbox one fitted as it was too difficult on initial installation. I only fitted this when I moved the gearbox to change the clutch. I then foound it difficult to refit the gearbox with the push fitted garden hosepipe as it kept popping off the breather stub as I moved the gearbox into position, hence the moved to a threaded version.

The gearbox and transfer box breathers are higher up in the transmission tunnel where it is less likely to get wet and where there is air trapped in the tunnel anyway.

How deep can u go without gearbox and transfer case breathers?
Thanks

Hi Martin,

Have you finished developing this kit yet?
I'd like one.
I have my own tap set though.

Many thanks

Ollie

I guess it depends on your height (suspension + tires). Also, i think the gearbox breather is a little higher than the t-case one.

Does anyone can explain to me the inner works of Martin's kit vs the one that just uses hoses ?

He did mention issues on the add-on kit (at least the gearbox) due to high oil working temperature. But i didn't understand why this hapeens too.
