That's bad news Martin

, I am sure they know how influential you are in the Jimny world? It's not going to bode well with PR for Suzuki all this profiteering..
Plus they have missed out on any tutorials you may have made to help  promote  the brand

Spoke to another dealer today who said if he had known it was BigJimny who wanted one..........

We are on the list at our local dealer for one, having paid a depit a couple of weeks ago. Does anyone know if you can upgrade the infotainment from sz4 to the sz5 compete with screen.

For the original SZ4 and SZ5 the connections are the same, on the assumption that the SZ4 commercial is no different then you may be in luck. This is a subject I will be looking into further as soon as I can.

The ONLY connection that is marked "if fitted" is the GPS aerial connection, so I would guess this is not fitted to the SZ4 commercial as it will not have satnav.

However the e-call system DOES need GPS and there is a GPS feed to another unit for this. Unfortunately it appears that the entertainment cables for the  REAR SPEAKER wiring is not fitted to cars with e-call because the e-call audio is fed to a new speaker fitted in the rear passenger speaker position

Just to add, both the satnav gps and the e-call gps  modules look like "GPS Pucks" (Google it) in which case it would be simple to buy one from eBay and wire it in.

Every Suzuki dealer l checked is now sold out "come back in 2022"
Most won't even take your registration of interest or pre-order.
My local dealer now has 200 people on their waiting list.
Although l imagine not all will come up with the money if offered a car.
Some will be speculators hoping to flip the car for a quick profit.

There were 20 people in front of me on the waiting list for a Jimny by 2020.
l had been on the list since the beginning of 2019. Although some dropped out or wouldn't have a certain colour, it never got down to me being offered one.
They did offer me their demonstrator at a fair price, it was a 2018 ex-press fleet SZ5, and l very nearly bought it, but ended up buying a nearly new 2020 one privately.
l thought we paid top money at the time, £24,000 for a 2020 SZ5 with 1,300 miles, but you can't get one for that now.
