So, after all the talk of a centrally ordering in a fair way, we’re literally left with the same absolute farce of a system of customers not actually being able to order one and it being on the whim of each dealer how they allocate their 1 or 2 this year?!? Have Suzuki literally learnt nothing, or is it then simply don’t care about their customers as there are enough buyers of the Jimny for them not to have to bother about doing something fair and reasonable?

Does anyone with access to the UK dealer PR know if the rear windows have been covered or tinted to qualify for the N1 commercial tax class?

l imagine it's more to do with how many Jimnys Suzuki can actually supply to each country, from their production quantity.

lf we are getting 400 per year, then it's difficult to see how Suzuki could distribute these in a way that everyone thinks is "fair"

The system they have implemented seems the best option, as whatever way you look at it , few people will actually get one.

l would pose the question why Suzuki can't produce more of the vehicle, if they are in such demand.

I think Suzuki got caught off guard with demand with the new Jimny. The previous model was more of  a niche market selling approximately 1800 units a year in the UK , it appears that with the GEN4 they have produced a lifestyle vehicle which appeals to a wider demographic very similar to the GEN2 ( Samurai)  which captured the hearts of the younger drivers. Maybe now that the Indian factory is on line more commercials will be made.... unless they still have their quotas strangled with the EU regulation's?

Pretty sure EU regulations aren't an issue anymore for us.......
Interesting how many car companies are pulling models out of this country, the majority of 4x4 pick ups are now not available here.
This is not new, in the eighties under the gentleman's agreement with Japan, Suzuki stopped bringing in the SJ413 soft top, they imported them into Holland and UK buyers were offered the chance to 'personally import' them.
Our dealer paid my wife and I, £200 and all transport to go over and 'import' one each, he then put them on the forecourt as one owner.
We sailed from Sheerness to Vlissingen, bussed to Rotterdam, drove back to UK, registered vehicles and taxed them at Maidstone, then brought them back to MK. We blew the £200 in the onboard casino! Great fun, we did it twice for E and F reg.

Whilst we have left the EU we are still within the standards agreements that limit vehicle emissions.
