Exhaust heat shields was created by Jonners
My first post!
Anyone had problems with the two central exhaust heat shields falling off. Said to reduce risk of hot exhaust and dry grass. Most folk (even non Jimny machines) seems to suffer same problem. The ends and clips seems to have rusted out together (dissimilar metals?)
Some advise just bin them and don’t worry about it but interested to learn from other experiences..Suzuki do not stock them by the way.
Cheers for now. Will follow up with some pics of Jimny and heat shield

Standard problem, weld it back on or replace the cast section

Hi Martin
Thanks for quick response. Not much left to weld. Does the cast section come with heat shields?

Hi and Welcome.
Are we taking about the CAT heat shield?
If so the majority of aftermarket exhaust systems don't come with a heat shield so don't get fitted with one. Mine is heat shield less and so far it's not set fire to grass, rains a lot in the Midlands so the grass is damp and the Jimny is tall.

I'm a farmer so spend a lot of time in long grass. My cat still has a shield but it's held on with jubilee clips but I don't have any issues with grass seeds building up. And the rest of the shields fell off years ago and also not a problem with grass.

No. The exhaust between the cat and the silencer. Two small heat shields held by three jubilee clips. Gonna try heat wrap tape. Thanks for response
