I’m thinking of selling my white 7.5k mile 19-plate manual SZ5. On Autotrader there are 5 private sellers of manual SZ5s all looking for £25K. Can that be realistic??!! I know the car is in short supply and sought after, but £25K seems well OTT to me! What do you guys think my car is realistically worth? Cheers, Mike.

Seller's market for these my friend. 25 is a bit steep for yours seeing as low mileage 2020 cars at dealers are around that much but who knows.

What people are asking for is entirely different to what they are actually getting, some of these high price Jimny seem to be hanging around more than they used to a few months ago. Ultimately it's only worth what someone will pay you for it and that depends on how desperate you are to shift it.

Going by the Gen.4's popularity and in light of the recent announcement that the UK imports of the Gen.4 will come to an end eventually, I'd say you wouldn't have a problem getting list price back for your vehicle. Possibly even more, but as Lambert says it really depends how badly someone wants one.
In my opinion, whilst there are still waiting lists.. you'll find a buyer no problem.
That all being said, this C word has knocked normality for six. I'd wait for this to blow over before you advertise the Jim.

Autotrader will give you a valuation. I'd expect it to be just over £20k for a private sale in "good" condition.
Make sure you've got it insured for at least that value otherwise insurance companies will depreciate it using standard market rates and they'll value it at around £14k.

The thing is, look at whether they are actually selling......everything seems to be hanging around.
There are quite a few around at high prices but I think Covid-19 had stopped all sales dead in the water and they were already very slow before that. I thought the bubble had burst on used prices at the end of last year but was wrong. However I think there will be a drop now, at least a short one.
By October we will have the lack of any new Jimnys arriving (global shipping has stopped due to virus), the prospect of bad weather and the looming threat of no Jimnys in 2021. There could well be a temporary bump up then. If Suzuki do announce the 2021 Commercial Jimny then this could force the prices downwards.
So if you can wait, then wait a bit longer. You could only sell at the moment for list price I reckon.
BTW: at least one "modifier" who bought new Jimnys for customisation is selling them off un-modified, I think this is a sign that they feel the bubble is going.
